A Benefit Concert Supporting Arts Education in Oakland Public Schools
AOK's first ever benefit concert, HELLA GOOD NIGHT, is a celebration of the Town's unique sound, featuring Oakland's own JWALT -- a nationally recognized poet, author, and recording artist -- whose recent album "How Love Grows," just his #1 on the itunes charts. Acclaimed DJ, beat-writer, and AOK grantee, Phillipdrummond, will open the show with some philthy, funky, danceable BEATS and a live collaboration with rising vocal talent, J.A.A.D.
100% of proceeds from the event will go to our grant programs, which place skilled teaching artists in Oakland's most under-served public schools.
Doors open for VIPS promptly at 6pm, followed by an exclusive meet-and-greet with Jwalt, with general admission at 6:30. COME ON TIME TO CATCH ALL THE AMAZING MUSIC -- DRINK, DANCE, AND PARTY FOR A GOOD CAUSE!!
